What Can I Expect?
It can be difficult finding the right photographer to take your senior portraits. You need someone whose style and pictures you like, but also someone who will make your session fun and comfortable! When you're having fun, your pictures will come out better!
Each of my sessions typically lasts a bit longer than the time stated on the package. I'm not afraid of taking the extra time to make sure your pictures come out the best they can possibly be. My goal is to capture a few different looks. Some more traditional, but also others where we can just be creative and see what happens!
We'll talk before the session to determine where and when you want the session to be. I have a few go-to spots, but the best portraits happen when we take them at a place that is special to you. During the session, you can expect plenty of feedback and encouragement from me. I'll do everything I can to ensure that you look your absolute best! I hope to hear from you!

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear to my session?
You should try to stay away from stripes, patterns, or polka dots. It's hard to go wrong with solid colors. This helps to keep the focus on you, rather than what you're wearing. If you want, you can bring a few accessories such as hats or jackets. This can change your look without the hassle of a wardrobe change.
Where will my session take place?
This is completely up to you! Photos normally come out best when the location is special to you. If you have no preference, I have a few places in mind which will work.
What about hair and makeup?
It's best to get a haircut a week or two away from your session. That way, you look sharp, but don't have the "just cut" style. Wear your hair in a style that fits your personality. For makeup, this really depends on personal preference. Something which is subtle and accentuates your natural beauty will almost always work. There are times where a more dramatic look will work also.
How long will it take to receive my photographs?
You can expect to receive a link and password to your proofing gallery about a week after your session (if not sooner!). The proofing gallery will typically contain your best photographs (this number varies depending on the package). From there, you will be able to order images, which I will fully edit and color after you've placed your order.
What rights do I get with my photographs?
Depending on the package you select, you may have digital downloads. With these, you get full rights to print the photos wherever you'd like. All copyrights, commercial printing rights, distribution rights, and other rights will be retained solely by Alec Salisbury Photo & Video. As for the other edited photographs in your gallery, this print release will not apply. You will only be able to order prints of those photographs through your gallery. You do, however, have the option to purchase digital download versions of any or all the photographs in your gallery.
Do you charge for travel?
The first 20 miles round trip from Freeport is included with your session. Additional travel is calculated based on the standard mileage rate published by the IRS each year and will be quoted prior to booking.
Why should I order prints through you?
I’ve tested and compared several of the nation’s top professional printing labs. The lab that I’ve chosen to work with offers only the highest quality prints. All printers are not created equal, unfortunately. It can be difficult for lower-quality printers to accurately replicate the colors you see on a computer screen. I’ve calibrated my equipment to match the labs I work with. This means the color, exposure, and sharpness of the prints you order through me will closely match the photographs themselves.
Can I order additional prints outside my package?
Yes! Just let me know which additional photos you want. The pricing can be found on the session information page on this website.
Can I bring friends and family?
Yes! Just make sure they're there to support you, not distract you.
